PRAYER FROM THE NEW MOON DESPACHO

You may add a prayer at any time to the despacho
by holding it silently, speaking it out loud or writing or posting here.

We bow before you, Pachamama,
with open and humble hearts.

We bow to the Apus, to Spirit, to Creator
to offer our gratitude.

To thank you for your unconditional and unwavering presence
when we are unable to see.

To thank you for holding us when we are lost.
Help us to align with your divine guidance
so we may step once again into our wholeness.

May we drink from the source of your nectar
so our hearts are fed in joy.

May we remember that we are children of this Universe.
May we awaken our innocence, our delight,
our wonder in this world in which we live.

We thank you for hearing our prayers,
for the blessings you bestow.

We thank you for your healing graces that wash us clean.
May we learn to trust in the mystery of your divine order.
We surrender our sorrows, our heartaches, our worries and fears.
We thank you for transforming these seeds of doubt
so they may lay the fertile ground on which we walk
illuminating the pathway for us to follow.

We thank you, thank you, thank you with all our hearts.

I was deeply moved by the outpouring of prayers for our Earth Mother from hearts the world over, all in response to an invitation on facebook to Imagine A World.

Our Visioning Despacho was created on August 10th in honor of Pachamama Days which correlates to May 2014, a time of blooming and blossoming. The number 10 reflects unity and divinity and speaks to our intentions of visioning a new world. For these reasons, along with August 10th being my birthday, the day felt auspicious!

Despacho prayers and offerings are often placed in wrapping paper but as I travel I find myself drawn to maps to orient and anchor prayers to the land. Since our visioning despacho was a prayer for humanity, a map of the world was used.

IMG_0670Words from each prayer were written on violet paper, the color of creation. Healing, kindness, love, Oneness, humility, Consciousness, devotion, unity, peace, harmony, abundance. Each day as they sat on the altar, the Tibetan singing bowl rang over these words sending their vibrations straight to Creator on the current of sound. The words were then woven together to symbolize our interconnectedness before being placed in the center of our despacolho.

IMG_0671A mandala of whole nuts grown locally in New Mexico remind us of our wholeness, our holiness and the seed potential of each vision. Each prayer was spoken into a qintu made of three bay leaves and radiated out from our holy center. Ten pine cones surrounded our prayers as beacons of light to guide our visions to manifestation. Pine trees are one of the most ancient plants on the planet and our pineal gland, which is intimately linked to our perception of light, is shaped like and named after the pine cone.

IMG_0672

Wildflowers from the desert, along with candies, sugar cookies, animal crackers, grains, incense, sprinkles, cocoa, sage and tobacco
were offered to feed our prayers and Pachamama.

IMG_0673

A blanket of cotton quilt lay atop representing the Upper World. Feathers to lift our prayers to Creator and to honor the Apus, for the mountain spirits appear as winged ones, were placed in the center. Gold and silver sugar, sparkles and glitter, violet flowers of creation and colored candies fed our prayers to the invisible realms of Spirit so they may be made visible here on Earth. As above, so below.

IMG_0674

Tibetan prayer flags were added to honor inclusivity in these times of dissolving borders that have been falsely erected between race, religion, gender, sexuality and a whole host of judgments that divide humanity. Once complete the Tibetan singing bowl once again sounded.

IMG_0676

Wrapped in the world map, a forgotten prayer holder of wildflowers was tied to the outside. Prayers are held through time and space until visions have manifested. Under a night sky of gentle rain our despacho sat, a sure blessing in the desert.

IMG_0677

Our despacho was buried in the belly of Pachamama in the deserts of New Mexico. The Earth was prepared with prayer and offerings of sweetgrass, herbs and dried flowers. It is here our visions sit with our Mother, taking root deep in her belly so they may blossom and bear fruit.
May she know how much we love her.

IMG_0695

We thank you Pachamama,
for everything we have comes from you,
and it is to you we return.
We are sorry for the harm we have brought to you
through our ignorance and greed.
We love you.
We honor you.
We respect you.
Please forgive us,
your sons and daughters,
and help us Beloved Mother
to walk in a good way.

“Since we have become beings with language,
our mission as human beings is to be the speakers within the realm of living things.
We communicate and the world makes sense,
and we ourselves makes sense.”
Francois Cheng

It has been an honor to collect and read these prayers of love, beauty, kindness, peace, joy and harmony that sang from every heart. I know I was not able to literally capture every prayer as our visioning ceremony reached wide and far but I am deeply inspired by the outpouring of love and devotion for our Earth Mother through these Pachamama Days. There is a lot to read here but I offer this in the hope that you may feel the love I have felt as these prayers were posted. You may read them or scroll over and feel them. There is no doubt our world is changing, one heart at a time.

We are communicating.
And the world makes sense.

IMAGINE

a world where kindness is repaid with kindness.

a world of community song, of collective vibration, and the awareness of eternal love.

a world where we become the caretakers of all our relations, honoring all animals, plants, each other. Where we realize that ALL life is sacred.

the songs of our hearts to our Mother create such a vibration that we can feel it in our beings around the world!

we are encouraged to nurture our innate gifts and talents so that everyone has a vital role in the community and none are lacking.

a world of love, peace and joy.

a peace where all forces of life, mineral, plant, animal and human’s alike will live and co-exist in harmony ‘striving to replenish the earth and one another so that we may all heal mind, body, emotional body and Spirit. May all sentient beings be free from harm. May each embrace one another as family and join forces to becOMe ONE again.

dance, dance, dance with me all around the healing tree. a world of peace, joy, and love. Each person caring for all things that live. Teaching and sharing respect and reverence for all life, for all souls, for the life of spirit.

a world that returns to a strong sense of community in everything we do. Where every member of the community has a role and a place and we all work together and help each other. A world where we mourn together, heal together, and rejoice together. And celebration is a daily practice, not an occasional thing we attempt to make time for.

Oneness, where everyone has their needs met consistently, where the weather is warm, the air, water and ground are clean and all people are kind. Then, with basic needs met without worry, humans can enjoy beauty, create from their souls, support the endeavors of others and live in a high vibration.

a world where every person chooses to live from love knowing that we are all one. one body, one mind, one heart, one soul at peace. cheers to the dance of life. follow your bliss & smile often!!!

healing from the injuries of man. gentle winds & cool waters to heal our Mother Earth. To hear the voices of birds & children alike to bless her as she heals within beams of sunlight & rest of moon glow to a healthier land in the morning sun.

May we all remember the Divine Presence within each of us. May we all affirm the truth of our Being. May we see the divinity in all of life around us, the winged creatures, the four-leggeds, the two-leggeds, the stones, and all the we stand on and breath. May love guide us in all our interactions

pure intent of love.

I add my prayer to all those above and to come. I imagine for this world the honouring of and living the wisdom of the child – from sunrise to sunset, through seasons and stages of Life – in harmony and humility with all other children of this our Mother – Pachamama.

love and light and a way to fix the environment globally

a world that is greased by compassion and build on love and happiness.

for all people to honour the Oneness of all creation and to work creatively and cooperatively, with the wisdom of nature, to bring in the golden age.

a world where every living thing is honored and appreciated.

a world where anger is dissolved by love, where sorrow is softened by love, where arid lands are watered by love and where all beings are made of love, surrounded by love, swimming in love.

a world where all hunger and all war have been abolished.

a world where all hearts beat as one and flow with the rhythm of the Mother’s blood.

the world healed of all it’s conflict and strife, balanced peaceful and whole, a place we proudly call home for all living relations human animal and plant and mineral kingdoms all in natural balance as the world has been an I imagine can be again soon, real soon

a world where the human animal stops killing all species including their own, where the leopard lies down with the lamb, and the feline with the avian;where there is love and respect for all beings. And so it is

a world Called By Love. My commitment and my Sacred Vow is to give the rest of my life to That. I Am Called By Love

a world where all walk side by side; all have clean water and nutritious food; a work to do that allows them the ability to care for loved ones; a safe dwelling to sleep at night; a world that is working for all, with none excluded, and all included.

a world where all hearts beat as one and flow with the rhythm of the Mother’s blood.

that we come to respect life in all it’s forms and feel the great power of love and peace and contentment joined under one common good – be kind to one another.

a world connected in interspecies communication, with all Ancestral Beings rejoicing in this

a world of peace love happiness contentment, were we are all equal and were we take care of mother Earth and all her creatures

a world in brotherhood and in harmony with nature.

a world where respect and gratitude to Pachamama are expressed in the actions of the humans that live upon her. Everyday. All the time.

a world where we respect and honor your beauty and bounty. We walk softly on the earth. We drink from your clean waters. We eat from your garden nurtured by the sun. We replenish your soil with vital nutrients we give back in compost. I dream we power our modern world with the power of pachamama energy. Let it be dreamed. Let it be so.

people are not just open, but they see and listen to their dreams. One where people and give up the ideal of greed and lust spend money to help fix our mother and let the true truths be known

balance restored to Pachamama. For all our relations, stone, trees, plants, and animals. For humans to stop hurting life and live with love and respect for all life. We are all connected

My prayer to the Rogue River in my back yard, as I touch you and love you and thank you, I ask for your forgiveness. I am sorry that I forgot. Please take this prayer of love in every direction for Mother Earth and Father Sky

a world where every man, woman and child knows Respect and Love and Gratitude for each other, all living creatures great and small and especially the abundance beauty and blessings our Earth mother provides us .

a world where value is placed on what is on the inside of people and not the outside. Where there is balance and respect for all life. Animal, plant and human and the earth.

a world where all beauty and peace are restored and everyone has “enough”. Food, health care, love, shelter, compassion, health, and happiness.

a world where all creatures are happy, content, & fulfilled. May all be healed & whole. May all seek the light, may there be peace on earth & thru out the entire universe. Om mani padme hung.

a Pachamama where humans will share the ancient knowledge of balance, love, respect and gratitude for all living things. I pray that we will help Pachamama to restore, so that she will continue to fill our hearts with the sweet songs of blessings, so that we will never forget the love from a mother to her child. Let us all learn to walk in balance Pachamama! I greet you, today tomorrow and forever!! With love

a world in which the web of life and the interconnectedness of All is acknowledged, respected and celebrated. I pray for peace, healing, abundance and wholeness for all.

a world where all beings know their true beauty self and live in joy with all others. Singing and dancing in joy with each other.

a world where people are connected to the spirit within and the spirit within all life. Each person knows their worth and purpose and is focused on peace, wellness and service. Each act is an act of love.

a world of peace, where all people are equal, where all can have access to the health care needed, the food they need to be healthy. A world where everyone has affordable housing, and decent education for their children. Where all beasts are treated with honor, and the plants of the world can grow as they are meant to.

a world in peace and freedom. A world with plenty joy, where everybody take care for all beings and take responsibility in deep munay and connection with mother Earth. Where everybody is protected.

a world where the children and the animals are cherished. Where the children understand the joy of honoring their mother.

a world where every person says hello, smiles, and embraces those in need of prayer. I imagine a world where no animal or pant life becomes endangered. I imagine a world of rainbows in the sky and in our own hearts. I imagine a world where each day is a celebration. I imagine a kind world. Peace! Love! Song! Dance!

PachaMama I pray for you to be loved by each and everyone of us who walk on you. I pray for a uniting of our spirits with yours, and we all wake up and remember and love you sooo much!

a world where we greet Pachamama with respect, love & ayni – each and every morning as we rise.

peace and love in the world with no borders and food and water for everybody.

How would loving and respecting each living and breathing entity sound? Pay forward love, compassion and forgiveness throughout the Universe, raising the vibration for all mankind… may we all feel and know this gift in our lifetime and beyond.

May the light pulse through all living beings and fill any voids with all that is needed for each and everyone. Abundance for All!

May all beings tread lightly on our Mother with great respect and compassion. May the light of the sun and moon fill us with peace and healing. Let us recognize our connection to each other and to all that is…Namaste

a world that has care and love in all hearts for all

the end of suffering for all beings. answered prayers for everyone .
Chi-migwetch

a world with fresh water, food, fresh air and a warm bed for all people. I dream of a world where hundreds of millions of animals graze on grass and live in nature without being tortured in captivity and used for food. I dream of a world where people don’t die fighting each other for imaginary paper gains, or resources or imaginary borders. I dream of a world where people don’t live in fear and where they are not exploited for any possible thing that they can be used for. I dream of a healthy Pachamama who can be proud of her children.

May our hearts be opened!

a world filled with love and responsible agriculture. Where the masses head the word of our ancestors and live a life full of purpose.

dear pachamama let us walk on you with an open heart with deep respect, love, and compassion for you our great mother and all our relations.

a world where all people can remember their own courage and lightness, where people can live from their hearts and not so much from their minds, and where we can remember that we are all LIGHT angels and we are here to heal and learn. I imagine a world where intuition, gentleness, sweetness, and kindness are valued and considered incredibly important, because they are. I imagine a world where all people use their firey, masculine side for the good of the world and its creatures. It is not so much about BECOMING what you want to be, it´s about REMEMBERING that you already are, perfect, and that you possess everything that you ever needed. Call those memories to you and you will see.

a world where all creatures of the earth (2 and 4 legged) are honored, respected and treated with love & compassion.

A world as I have been to, a world where only Light lives.
Where we dance between the stars and visit many places in the galaxies. Where we know who and what we really are, the expressions of creation, freely, no longer held in density and ignorance.

Harvesting Quinoa at Amura Village during our Women's Journey to Peru, May 2013

Harvesting Quinoa at Amaru Village during our Women’s Journey to Peru, May 2013

The shamans of the high Andes dedicate the first twelve days of August to honoring Pachamama and dreaming the world into being for the year ahead, a time known as Pachamama Days in Peru. The 1st of August represents August 2014, the 2nd, September 2014 and so on, with the 12th being July 2014. Days are filled with people offering despachos to Pachamama, sweets and flowers in gratitude for her gifts of harvest as they prepare the soils for the next seeds.

Even if we are not in Peru we can use these energies to connect more deeply to Mother Earth and be mindful of what we are creating. Can we listen more deeply to what needs tending? What needs clearing?

Spend time each day in meditation, contemplation. Journal. Create intention. Make offerings to the Earth, to the waters. Be mindful of spending time in nature. What arises by listening, by turning in?

Inspired by the Pachamama Days of Peru, let us imagine a world.

I invite you to write below what you imagine a world to be. Let us create a collective prayer to offer in ceremony. Your prayers will be written on violet paper, the color of creation, and added to a despacho that I will create and share later in the Pachamama days.

I imagine a world where each day we greet Pachamama with a song, a song that rises from our love for our Mother Earth, a song that sings our gratitude to her.

How would the vibration of our world change if each and every soul sang the song of their heart? It is through imagining we create a new world.

May we open our ceremony with a song to our Beloved Mother. This song was birthed by Tracey St. John at Empowerment Camp on June 20th at Feathered Pipe Ranch this summer. I have not stopped singing it since. Click on the picture below to hear the song and sing along!

Earth Mother Prayer Song

I bow in gratitude for adding your voice,
your prayer to our collective vision.

May generations to come be able to look back
and say thank you for what we are creating today.

Tibetan Singing Bowl

We offer our collective hearts to Spirit.
We let go of the attachment of how our visions and dreams

will manifest in the kaypacha.
We cultivate trust in the divine order.
We surrender to the great mystery
so we are no longer guided by the voices of fear,
the limiting belief systems
and old paradigms that have laid false imprints in our minds.
We deepen our connection to Nature
and open the channels to Spirit
as we fearlessly step into the guidance
that is so willingly offered to us.

AHO!

IMG_0354When I made plans to be in Savannah, Don Black Feather asked if I would offer a despacho during my visit. My yes turned out to be bigger than I could have imagined.

Arriving a week before ceremony gave me time to become more intimate with land that was unfamiliar to me. On one of our first outdoor ventures animal bones were found lying near a pond. I knew right away they would be part of our despacho and were placed on our altar.

In Peru, prayers are offered to the despacho in a kintu made by blowing intentions into three coca leaves. With no coca leaves available in IMG_0410North America finding a kintu before ceremony was important. Along a trail in Skidaway State Park we discovered Georgia’s state flower, the Cherokee Rose. Its leaves are similar in size and shape to the coca leaf. How beautiful to have the Flower of Love hold our prayers.

My infatuation with the rose seemed to cloud my memory to the plethora of thorns that protect its beauty. Harvesting and preparing a hundred or more leaves for ceremony was a painstaking ritual not without some blood being shed. The Cherokee Rose held another story, the Trail of Tears. A story of ancestors waiting to be told.

The last the ancestors would speak before ceremony was through scorching hot sand leaving my feet full of blisters.

This ceremony was working in ways I did not fully understand from my stinging hands to my burning feet. Never before had the ancestors spoke so loudly.

I confess my ignorance to the Trail of Tears. I wanted to know more of the story behind the Cherokee Rose. What I came to learn left me humbled in tears.

The Cherokee had lived in western Georgia for generations. In the early fall of 1838 the United States Army began the invasion of the Cherokee Nation through a ratification of the “Indian Removal Act”. Driven from their homes with little food or provisions, the Cherokee were forced to march a thousand miles to Oklahoma, arriving during one of the most brutal winters in the state’s history. Four thousand people were reported to have died on that journey.

“The mothers of the Cherokee grieved so much that the chiefs prayed for a sign to lift the mother’s spirits and give them strength to care for their children. From that day forward, a beautiful new flower, a rose, grew wherever a mother’s tear fell to the ground. To this day, the Cherokee Rose prospers along the route of the Trail of Tears.”

The blisters on my feet were nothing compared to the journey of a thousand miles the Cherokee nation took that year. Whatever pain or suffering I may have known pales in comparison to the suffering of those who have come before me. The ancestor speak in ceremony was an opportunity to honor the pain and suffering of the footsteps walked before we have come.

To honor offers healing. To honor allows us to stand in gratitude for the privileges we are graced with. Privilege born of the pain and blood of those that have come before.

This ceremony was a walk in humility. A walk of respect to the calling of our ancestors. A bow in gratitude to all who have suffered and paved the way for our footsteps to follow. May we never forget the walk of our ancestors.

According to National Geographic, Savannah is one of the 100 Most Beautiful Places on Earth. Being an unfamiliar visitor here this was news to me.

As I prepare for a despacho ceremony on Saturday I am discovering why Savannah made the list. Driving Don Black Feather to work one morning, a little bridge over water caught my eye. A desire to be with Mama Cocha and become more intimate with the land here called from my soul.

I first took part in this water ceremony in Peru with master healer and shaman Don Hilario at Lago Huaypo (pronounced why-po) for visioning bigger than we ever had before. Working with water can also bring balance to our emotional body. Cleansing and purification are also properties of water. My intention was a bit of all three.

I share with you this water ritual not so much as a recipe to follow but as food for the soul should you feel called to the water.

Before returning to the river I found a pot of white daisies at the supermarket to hold prayers for purification. Colored sugar and candy confetti were in the baking aisle. A package of M&M’s at the register completed my purchase. As I searched for a spot along this little river the most perfect space for ceremony appeared.

Naked challah bread would hold the prayer offerings.

Praying with my mesa and drumming to the Earth Mother Prayer Song connected me more deeply to the land. (click on the song for an audio link) Prayers blown into white daisies were placed in challah. The rest were planted in the Earth as an offering.

May our hearts be washed clean of all sorrows.
May our thoughts and mind run pure so human mind aligns with divine mind.
May our will and thy will be one.
May all waters flow clean and clear, within us, around us and all the world over.
May all souls live in the divine flow of love and light.
May all hearts be free.
May we learn to honor and respect spiritual laws and the laws of Nature.
Teach us Pachamama to be your stewards and caretakers.
Help us remember we are your sons and daughters.
Help us to live in right relationship, peace and harmony
with you Beloved Mother and with all your relations.

Honey was drizzeled over the offering to add sweetness to our prayers.

Gold and silver sugars balance the sacred masculine and feminine energies and connect our luminous bodies to the divine threads of gold and silver light. Colored candies were added for celebration and chocolate to honor the lineage in Peru.
