It began with a journey.

Swimming away from the shore. From all that I know. Finding respite. A small island of sand to sit and rest. Swimming around me a circle of dolphins. Held in unwavering joy.

A spirit journey manifested in form. Beyond the realms of what I could have imagined for myself.

A ceremony arose. Ascension to JOY.

I left New York, my home since birth, swimming away from the shore and all that I know. I met Carla Goddard for the first time in Florida. The place I landed, a respite of sand. A sacred lodge of women arose in the ethers. What existed online has began to take form.

From our first meeting over lunch a ceremony was born. She carrying a prayer stick to the Pacific. I carrying a finger sponge to Bimini.

We were on opposite coasts at the same time. Monday afternoon we would join in ceremony. She at the Pacific. I at the Atlantic.

On Monday I headed out to the deep waters of the Atlantic with my two sisters, our six kids (ranging in age from 5 to 20), Joe Noonan the dolphin whisperer, his son Mark and our captain Kevin and first mate and wife Candy. Our intent was to find dolphins.

Four hours later still no sign on one of the calmest days ever on the ocean. We had all let go of the expectation of finding dolphins that day. We headed back in. I had a despacho to create to join with Carla in ceremony on the Pacific.

And then we heard the word.

A few hundred feet out a fin above the water. Now?

In moments, the energy that had waned as our boat trip seemed to near its end surged.

We were surrounded by dolphins. Held in unwavering joy.

This was the ceremony.

We were blessed that day to swim with two pods of dolphins, often swimming with as many as 15 to 20 at a time. They stayed with us for an hour. Time eternal in underwater bliss.

We were graced to enter this world for a moment in time. It is difficult to capture in words the power, the beauty and the awe of this experience. I offer this video so you may share in the divine grace for these magnificent beings joined us at this time of ceremony. To ascend in JOY. We could hear their sounds, their echolocations. Downloading frequencies of mystery.

Thank you to the hundreds of souls who joined us in ceremony this past week. Your prayers were heard.

This is your ceremony too.

I invite you to view on full screen by clicking the icon in the lower right hand corner of the video.

AHO my friends! AHO!

Within each Soul lies a seed that holds the potential for its becoming. Just as the acorn holds within all it needs to grow into the mighty oak we too are born with everything we need to awaken fully into our potential.

Having cut the lower vibrational cords that no longer serve us in our last ceremony, we journey to retrieve the seed of our Soul to plant them in our next New Moon Despacho.

This is a journey to the womb of Mother Earth where the seed of all life springs forth. The journey of every seed is an instinctual call to Light that emerges from darkness.

For this journey you will need:

  • 20 – 30 minutes of uninterrupted time
  • Dark or dimly lit space to lie on your back as close to the Earth as you can
  • Pillows if needed  for under your head or beneath your knees for support
  • A blindfold or bandana to cover your eyes to take your journey deeper into darkness (optional)
  • A blanket to keep warm (optional)
  • Object from Nature to hold the essence of your journey

Once you retrieve this seed from the womb of Mother Earth you will be guided on your journey to plant this in the darkness of your belly. This seed will begin to inform you, awakening the call of your Soul. Dreamtime is a potent portal for Soul wisdom to come through. You may want a journal to record what comes to you in your dreams.

Once your journey is complete you will transfer the essence of what you receive to an object in Nature such as a flower, leaf, petal, twig or stone. Notice what images, thoughts, felt senses, knowings, colors or impressions have come through this journey. With your intention, and your exhale, you energetically transfer this information from your journey to an object in Nature by blowing this in with your breath. You then return this to the elements by burning in a fire, burying in the Earth or offering to a natural body of water. This aligns the calling of your Soul with the Universe and feeds your conversation with Spirit.

I offer this journey so the seeds of your Soul may be brought to our New Moon Despacho on January 23rd (more will be posted closer to ceremony). This ceremonial planting will birth the awakening of our Soul supported by the collective intent of all who share this journey.

Your Seed of the Soul Journey starts here.

Fire has the power to cleanse from our luminous field what no longer serves us. Fire feeds the seeds of intention of what we seek to call forth. Fire accelerates the release of heavy energies transforming it into light. We will use a simple fire ritual during our cord cutting ceremony for healing and transformation.

What you will need:

  • Tea Light Candle
  • Toothpick

In a traditional Peruvian fire ceremony we bring to the fire what we are ready to release by blowing the intention into a stick. (Read How A Shaman Prays for more). If you have a fireplace or other means of creating a fire, by all means use a stick to offer your intentions to the fire. If not, we will use a candle and a toothpick with the same intention working in the sacred space of ceremony.

With your exhale, blow the intention of releasing the roots of any toxic cords that deplete your system of its life force energy. Blow in the intention to clear the energetic impressions that diminish the brilliance of your Light. Blow in the intention of releasing the energetic impressions that have laid a foundation of lack and limitation. Personalize your intention in any way that feels authentic to you. Your breath is the energetic conduit on which your intention travels. As your intention is held in the stick, the dense energy of your intention transforms in the fire into light.

Once your intention is held in the toothpick, place it in the fire holding it as long as you can before setting it in the flame so it burns completely. Once your toothpick has been placed in the fire leave it until the flame has died out. Anything that may be left from your fire ritual; wax, burnt offerings, wick, may be buried in the Earth.

The other part of the fire ritual will clear the three energetic centers at your belly, heart and forehead and release any cords to the fire. Starting just below your navel, move your hand in a counterclockwise direction with the intention of releasing any dense or blocked energy from this center and direct it into the fire. Continue until this feels complete. Repeat this unwinding at the heart and forehead.

Once these 3 centers have been unwound, place your hands in front of you, palms facing up and ask Spirit for a ceremonial sword with which to cut any toxic cords. Trust you will receive what you need. If you have a ceremonial sword use it here. With deliberate intent, clear the space around your physical body with your sword. As you cut, direct what is being released into the fire. Trust your intuitive wisdom. Spend as much time as you need. Continue until this feels complete. Offer the sword back to Spirit with gratitude.

Once your luminous body has been cleared with the sword, draw the light of the flame into your field to heal, re-inform and psychically cauterize any cords. This often feels like I am bathing myself with fire. Let the fire feed any intentions of what you would like to call into your life at this time.

Bring this ritual to a close by drawing the flame into each of the three energy centers (belly, heart, forehead) and seal them in a clockwise direction.

This will be part of our cord cutting ceremony with further instruction once ceremony opens but it is also a practice you can use at any time for clearing, healing and transformation.

As the moon wanes into darkness, we prepare for our last Despacho Ceremony of the year by turning to the darkness within as we cut our attachments to what no longer serves.

We connect to others through energetic cords of varying degrees and intensity, our intimate sexual partners having some of the strongest cords. These cords are woven through our belief systems, entangled with guilt, blame, anger, fear and a whole gamut of toxic emotional patterns based on our notions of love, authority, power, survival and self worth. These cords live on long after someone has left our life continuing to deplete our life force energy. They keep us attached to our past, our ancestors, lost lovers and old relationships in ways that drain, rather than sustain us. They keep us entwined in current relationships through an exhaustive waste of our health and vitality.

The intention behind cutting cords is essential. Cutting cords is an act of love rooted in forgiveness. To cut cords from anger, hatred or revenge continues to feed  the toxicity that created the attachment in the first place. Our relationships have the potential to connect through cords of Love and Light, holding the power to nourish, heal and sustain.

It may be obvious where the toxic cords are that need cutting. What may not be clear are the underlying patterns that have created these toxic connections. What outdated belief systems are still running that have laid the foundation for toxic connections? This is our intent for ceremony. To clear these patterns from their root. (Read more at Life Deconstructing).

As we prepare for our New Moon Despacho, reflect on where these toxic connections exist. Notice cords that attach you to old identities, addictive substances, disease and illness. Feel and sense in your own body areas of tension, tightness, stress and fatigue. Notice where energy is leaking through obsessive and habitual thought patterns. Where do these storylines take you? What thoughts, fears and worries arise? This is one way to find where your energy drains are.

You may begin to release these cords before our ceremony opens on December 23rd with a purification practice. Using fine sea salt, give yourself a vigorous scrub during your morning shower holding the intention of clearing the roots of any toxic energetic cords from your system. Spend a few minutes with this before letting the water cleanse these energetic impressions from you. Thank the healing waters for washing your system clean of any toxicity that gets in the way of the fullness of your Light.

To cut these cords with forgiveness, give yourself permission to express whatever hurt, sorrow, rage and wrongs you have suffered with another by writing them a letter. Write as many letters as you need. Burn them once you are done to release the emotional charge of these toxic connections and clear a pathway to forgiveness. Withholding forgiveness keeps us attatched through toxic cords that poison our heart, not the heart of the other. Without forgiveness we continue to create from our wounds and hurts.

I look forward to meeting in ceremony, cutting these toxic cords from our luminous architecture so the brilliance of our Light may serve as a guidepost to our Destiny.

AHO my friends! AHO!

I was listening to Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese Buddhist monk, talk about how our wrong perceptions cause suffering. Our biggest sufferings come from death. If we get our perceptions straight even death will cease to cause suffering.

In self realized Truth there is no Death. Nothing comes. Nothing goes. Our existence is eternal with the incarnation of this form a mere blip on the infinite radar screen. As I have not yet achieved this level of self realization, death still brings with it pain.

I have learned much from the profound teacher of Death as darkness has descended on my heart. What I have been most afraid of losing is now gone. As the death of my most intimate relationship shatters my heart, I break open to deaths within the death within the death. It is as if this initial crack is but a portal to a torrent of deaths that have laid dormant, silently crying to be seen. This death of relationship with my most beloved is intertwined with the death of my father, his loss from my life not fully expressed since his death last year. How do we know when a grief is complete? This death of relationship brings death to visions of a future, dreams clinging on clouds of illusion.

An even bigger death lay below the surface as death to dogma comes crumbling down. A dogma that has laid a foundation of pain and suffering based on the belief if I love even more, then he will love me. This operating system seeks for a love that will never be met for it is always asking for more love in order to operate. As heartbreaking as it feels, more love does not get him to love me, more love does not make him want me and more love certainly does not get him to change. For to love with all I have, to love in the best way I know how will never be enough for this insatiable karmic loop. No amount of love will satisfy its quotient for then the loop would cease to exist. Even the loop is afraid to die.

In many ways, this is the most difficult death to wrestle with for it has provided a fundamental orientation to reality in its most intimate expression. It has steered me in the direction of what I thought was love. Death to the bedrock of this dogma shatters everything I thought I knew about what it means to love, what it means to be loving, what does love feel like to receive. My heart crashes in an avalanche of disbelief taking with it all the answers to what is love.

So what really dies here?

Misguided truths that were built to insure certainty. The death of these false prophets can only bring the clarity of Truth. When our fundamental beliefs dismantle, our internal compass loses all bearing. The ground beneath our feet dissolves into dust.

“The Shaman is one who has already died. He has overcome our greatest fear and is free from it. Death can no longer claim him.” Alberto Villoldo

But when all is uncertain, when we enter the mystery of what is not known, therein lies all that is possible. We have nothing to lose for our greatest fear, our fear of death, has come. Out of the ashes of that death we rise, reborn into a Truth for which our Soul yearns.

Where we are stuck, afraid to make a move or decision, we can strip its essence to this fear of death. For to make a decision means we must let go of something. A belief, a relationship, a false hope, a deceptive illusion, a distorted sense of security. We hold on to these false prophets, no matter how much they misalign our Soul, all in a vain attempt to avoid the pain of death. Death, in any way, shape or form, is letting go. Death does not let us cling to any shred of illusion that distorts our Truth. Death can seem a cruel teacher yet it is precisely this clean incision of Death that is its benevolence. How do we evolve into the fullness of our Truth while bound and chained to distorted dogma?

Death comes. This is certain. How we meet Death is our choice. And in my wrong perception, death still hurts. But only through death may I be reborn. And the rebirth that emerges is the integrity of my Soul. A respect for my Self that will not surrender to illusionary fantasies of a distorted truth. Death is the only way to bring an end to the dogma of pain and suffering. As I welcome Death, know it as the integral part of life that it is, maybe, just maybe, I will get my perception straight.

A Foretelling Sign for Our Next New Moon Despacho Ceremony

Spirit writes with Cloud to speak its message.
A sign to follow for what is next.

An X abolishes
all that lay underneath.
An X blazes trail
of what is to come.

It is time to obliterate where we are bound.
Where are we corded to lack and limitation?
What blocks the way to living our dreams?

Where are we isolated, separate from Spirit?
Can we find what lies underneath?

Spirit calls us to cut these cords,
turn inside,
to find them there.

Cutting these cords is the intention of ceremony.
The way to let go is a path of forgiveness.
The way to let go is the way of love.

Where we cannot forgive,
there is the hook,
through toxic cords
of fear, sorrow, rage.

Forgiveness can be a most difficult practice.
To forgive what is wrong does not serve Justice.
The position we hold must feel right.

But forgiveness is not done for the other.
Forgiveness is granted for the wholeness (holiness) of our Soul.
Withholding forgiveness
keeps us attatched
through toxic cords
that poison our heart.

Without forgiveness
we continue to create
from where we are wounded,
from where it hurts.

It is a brave heart,
the one that forgives.

Your heart may not feel
to forgive is the way.
Open to possibility
for the grace of forgiveness.
Let your intention
show you the way.

As we prepare for this last New Moon Despacho
let our intention be to cut these cords.
Let our hearts forge a path to forgiveness.
Let our year birth with dreams born anew.

AHO my friends! AHO!

What a blessing to receive this message during ceremony…

“Time evolves and comes to a place where it renews again. There is first a purification time, then there is renewal time. We are getting very close to this time now.

We were told that we would see America come and go. In a sense, America is dying, from within because they forgot the instructions on how to live on Earth.

Everything is coming to a time where prophecy and man’s inability to live on Earth in a spiritual way will come to a crossroad of great problems. It’s the Hopi belief, it’s our belief, that if you are not spiritually connected to the Earth, and understand the spiritual reality of how to live on Earth, it’s likely you will not make it.

When Columbus came, that began, what we term as, the “First World War.” That was the true First World War – when Columbus arrived – because along with him came everybody from Europe. By the end of the Second World War we were in America, we were only 800,000. From 60 million to 800,000. So we were almost exterminated here in America.

Everything is spiritual. Everything has a Spirit. Everything, everything was brought here by the Creator, the one Creator. Some people call Him “God,” some people call Him “Buddha,” some people call Him “Allah,” some people call Him other names. We call Him “Concachilla”, “Grandfather.”

We’re here on Earth only a few winters. Then, we go to the Spirit World. The Spirit World is more real than most of us believe. The Spirit World is everything.

Over 95% of our body is water. And, in order to stay healthy, you’ve got to drink good water. When the European first came here, Columbus, we could drink out of any river. If the Europeans had lived the Indian way when they came, we would still be drinking out of rivers, because Water is sacred. The Air is sacred.

Our DNA is made of the same DNA as the tree. The tree breathes what we exhale. When the tree exhales, we need what the tree exhales. So we have a common destiny with the tree.

We are all from the Earth. And when Earth, Water and the Atmosphere is corrupted, then it will create its own reaction. Mother is reacting. In the Hopi prophecy they say the storms and floods will become greater.

To me, it’s not a negative thing to know that there will be great changes. It’s not negative, it’s evolution. When you look at it as evolution, it’s time. Nothing stays the same.

[In reference to a monkey] we always say, that might be your ancestor, but it’s not our ancestor. He is a relative, but not our ancestor.

You should learn how to plant something. That’s the first connection. You should treat all things as Spirit – realize that we are one Family.

It’s never something like “the End.” It’s like Life – there is no end to Life.”

Floyd Red Crow Westerman
(August 17, 1936 – December 13, 2007) Sioux muscian, actor and political activist for Native American causes.
